Work log entries can be converted directly into work orders, allowing you to quickly initiate maintenance activities based on issues identified during inspections or completed work. When a work order is created from a work log entry, the relevant information is automatically copied, reducing manual data entry and ensuring consistency.
Before You Begin
To create work orders from work log entries, this feature must first be enabled in the Work Log Settings.
For instructions on enabling this option, refer to the Creating Work Log article.
Open the Work Log Entry
Navigate to the Work Logs section and open the work log entry that requires a follow-up work order.
For more information about work log entries, see the Enter Work Log Entry article.
Open the Actions Menu
Within the work log entry, click Actions to display the available options.
Create the Work Order
Select Create Work Order.
The system will automatically generate a new work order using the information from the selected work log entry.
Relevant details, such as the asset, description, and other applicable information, will be copied into the new work order.
Complete the Work Order
Review the generated work order and add any additional information that may be required, such as:
Priority
Assigned personnel
Labor and parts
Due dates
Additional instructions or notes
Save the work order once all necessary information has been entered.
Result
A new work order will be created and linked to the original work log entry, allowing maintenance work to be tracked and managed without re-entering the same information.
