Create a Work Log

Creating work logs helps document tasks, track progress, and ensure accurate records for better decision-making.

Create detailed work logs with these simple steps:

  1. Access the Work Logs Section

    • After logging in, click on Work in the sidebar menu and select Work Logs.

  2. Create a New Work Log

    • Click the New button to start creating a new work log entry.

  3. Enter General Information

    • Provide the Name of the work log at the top of the form.

    • In the General Info section, write a Description, set the Status, associate an Asset or link a Project if necessary.

  4. Select Form Filling Options

    • Under the Forms section, choose how you would like to enable form filling for this work log.

  5. Configure Settings

    • In the Settings section, configure which fields and options should be available when users create new work log entries.

    • Configure Field Visibility

      For the following fields, choose whether they should be:

      • Hidden – The field is not displayed.

      • Optional – The field is displayed but is not required.

      • Required – The field must be completed before the work log can be saved.

      • The following fields can be configured:

        • Entry Category

        • Asset

        • Project

        • Labor Duration

        • Labor Price

        • Travel Distance

    • Enable Optional Features

      You can enable the following features to extend the functionality of work logs:

      • Enable Downtime Tracking – Allows users to record asset downtime directly from a work log entry. This is useful for tracking equipment availability and maintenance performance.

      • Enable Request, Task, and Work Order Creation – Allows users to create Requests, Tasks, and Work Orders directly from a work log entry, making it easier to follow up on issues identified during maintenance activities.

    • Enable Request, Task and Work Order Creation, which then allows you to create these entities from work log entries.

  6. Set Permissions

    • Under the Permissions section, assign the necessary user permissions for the work log. For more details on permissions follow this link.

  7. Save Your Work Log

    • Once all details are entered, click Save to add the new work log to the list.
