Assign Barcode to an Asset (Mobile App)

Assigning barcodes improves tracking, simplifies inventory, and speeds up asset identification for greater efficiency.

Easily assign a barcode to an asset by following these steps:

  1. Access the Assets Menu:

    • After logging in, tap the menu icon located in the top left corner and select "Assets" from the list.

      Navigate to the Assets section from the mobile app menu.

  2. Locate the Asset:

    • Scroll through the list or type the asset's name in the search field. Alternatively, you can search for assets by using NFC tags or by scanning existing barcodes.

  3. Open Asset Options:

    • Once you've identified the asset, click on the Options icon on the right side of the asset's entry.

      Search and filter assets or scan barcodes to locate specific equipment.

  4. Assign or Change Barcode:

    • Select "Assign Barcode" to add a new barcode to the asset. If the asset already has a barcode and needs updating, select "Change Barcode."

      Access asset actions and select “Assign Barcode” from the menu.

  5. Scan the Barcode:

    • Use your device's camera to scan the corresponding barcode.

  6. Future Asset Search:

    • After the barcode is assigned, you can quickly locate this asset in the future by selecting the barcode icon and scanning the barcode.
