Create a Task from a Work Log Entry

Easily generate a follow-up task directly from a work log entry to ensure actionable items identified during daily work or routine inspections are properly tracked and assigned.

Converting a work log entry into a task allows teams to immediately turn observations into concrete action items. Key details from the original log entry are carried over automatically, minimizing manual typing and keeping project records clear and connected.

Prerequisites

Before generating tasks from work log entries, verify that this functionality is enabled under your Work Log Settings.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Locate the Work Log Entry

    • Head over to the Work Logs module and find the log entry that requires follow-up.

    • Click on the entry to open its detailed view. (Need more details on managing log records? Refer to the Enter Work Log Entry guide.)

  2. Access the Actions Menu

    • Find and click the Actions menu located within the work log entry header.

  3. Select "Create Task"

    • Choose Create Task from the menu options.

    • The system will instantiate a new task form pre-filled with relevant data from the log entry (such as the asset, description, and site details).

  4. Define and Assign the Task

    • Review the automatically copied information and complete any additional parameters.
